Ancient Observatory Kokino

Kokino - the Macedonian Stonehenge, is the 4th oldest megalithic observatory in the world and sacred site located in the far northeast of Macedonia, 70 km from Skopje.
This observatory includes special stone markers used to track the movement of the Sun and Moon on the eastern horizon.

Stone Dolls of Kuklica

The valley of stone dolls near village of Kuklica is a site with over 120 naturally formed stone pillars that look like people who have been turned to stone. Some of the stone dolls are 10 m tall and are supposedly 10 million years old. There are legends told about this place but the real story behind this natural phenomenon has to do with erosion and the slow passage of millennia.

National Park Mavrovo

Saint Jovan Bigorski Monastery

Nestled in the untouched upland scenery of Bistra Mountain lies the St Jovan Bigorski Monastery, one of the most beautiful monasteries in the Balkans. What makes the monastery famous is the unique iconostasis and the miraculous holy icon of Saint John the Baptist. The monastery complex consists of a church, defense tower, monastery cells, and some monastic guest rooms that offer a chance to stay longer.

Krusevo

Historic Krusevo was one the center of the Macedonian Uprising in 1903 and the first republic on the Balkans.
