The city offers a wealth of sports opportunities for professionals, enthusiasts and families. For taking in the natural sights of the area there are numerous walking, hiking, кayaking and cycling opportunities, while a bird's eye view can be had by paragliding. In addition, there are fine facilities for basketball, football, beach volleyball and tennis.
Skopje is home of the best sport collectives in Macedonia. If you want to see same quality sport action visit a handball match of the male and female handball teams of Vardar who are playing with success in EHF Champions League. For basketball game visit MZT Skopje, the only Macedonian participant in the regional Adriatic League. For every football lover the Philip II Arena is the place to be, the home of city rivals FK Vardar and FK Rabotnicki.
The silent forests that are surrounding the city are waiting for you to enjoy the natural beauty of the scenery mountains.
In the vicinity of Skopje, there are abundance of hiking trails on the mountains of Skopska Crna Gora, Vodno, Karadzica and Matka canyon.

On a hot and warm summer day, you can cool yourself in one of the city swimming pools. Lazy river, water slides and fun kids attractions, all of this you'll find in Aqua Park. Other popular open swimming pool that you can chill is Biser.
Both of the pools are open during summer only.
For closed pool that is open through the year, visit Karpos swimming pool or Olympic swimming pool.
Enjoy self-guided kayaking trip along the picturesque Matka Canyon in the outskirts of Skopje.
Just after the dam of Lake Matka, there is a great place for paddling which will give you a great view on the wonderful scenery.
You can rent kayaks at the restaurant next to the St. Andrew church for affordable prices.
Paragliding is a great way to see city area from a different perspective. In area around Skopje, the most popular sites are Krstovar on top of Vodno Mountain (1060m) and Ramno in Skopska Crna Gora (1560m). Usual flying season is from May to September. In the City Park you'll find tennis courts at ABC Tennis Club and Tennis Club Jug.
As part of the modern sports center Jane Sandanski is Tennis Park Club. Also, Hotels Alexander Palace and Hotel Evro Set are offering pleasant atmosphere for playing on their tennis facilities.
If you like football, this is the best place for you to go and watch football match. This stadium is the home ground of football clubs FK Vardar and FK Rabotnicki, as well as the Macedonia national football team on almost all occasions.
Expended and renovated, this multi-purpose venue is expected to shine in 2017, when Telekom Arena is set to make history by hosting the UEFA Super Cup 2017.
